šŸ¦ Roar into Your Authentic Power this Leo Season šŸ”„Integrity and Self-Actualisation in the Lion's Den

In this blog I want to share with you what self actualisation is and how being self actualised is integral to standing and owning your power, which is what Leo Season is all about!

On August 4th we had the New Moon in Leo which was a powerful amplifier of stepping out of the shadows and into your own light! This is because Leo is no only the performer and leader of the zodiac, but we are also in the lions gate portal 8/8. Historically the Egyptians called this the Galactic New Year as the Star Sirius is directly in alignment with us and at its highest point meaning its light codes are showering over us at this time. This is a beautiful portal and honestly in the past when I have pushed through it and not listened to my soul I found it very painful. Now I am listening fully to it , honouring softeness and receiving some lovely downloads! I am also visiting Glastonbury this week which is the heart chakra of the Earth, so I am excited to see what downloads come through there! (sorry to my non woo woo folk).

Now to self actualisation. In a world that often places countless demands on women, the concept of self-actualization might seem like a luxury. But what if I told you that it's not just a lofty ideal, but a powerful tool for personal growth and fulfillment?

What is Self-Actualisation?

Self-actualisation, a term coined by psychologist Abraham Maslow, refers to the full realisation of one's potential and the complete development of one's abilities and appreciation for life. For women, this means breaking free from societal expectations and pursuing a path that aligns with YOUR true self!

The reason this is potent and why I wanted to share it with you is because I decided to create a post on my socials last week, where I asked my audience what 3 words they would use to describe me. Now, this wasnā€™t just a Leo moment! This was to ensure the way I feel about myself, my mission and my integrity was translating well to my audience and thankfully that was abundantly clear. I actually believe that self actualisation is a fundamental component to living in integrity and in turn self empowerment! Why? Because for me, self actualisation is the realisation of self. The radical understanding of who you are and what you stand for and guess what, I believe the only way you truly gain that deep awareness of self is through overcoming!

Here is a few of the most common obstacles we face as women:

  1. Societal expectations and gender roles

  2. Work-life balance struggles

  3. Imposter syndrome and self-doubt

  4. Limited representation in leadership positions

  5. The pressure of perfectionism

The reason I do highlight these barriers is because being aware of them first step towards moving past them and actually choosing to no longer be defined by them!

So how can you gain Self actualisation? It is a combination of a few things, Its not a step process but more multiple moving parts that all move as one.

The Path to Self-Actualisation

  1. Self-awareness: As always, my number 1! Start by understanding your values, strengths, and passions. Reflect on what truly matters to you, not what others expect of you.

  2. Set authentic goals: Align your objectives with your personal values and desires, not external pressures.

  3. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself. Recognise that perfection is unattainable and that mistakes are valuable learning experiences.

  4. Cultivate meaningful relationships: Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your growth and respect your journey and see the light in you!

  5. Embrace growth: Viewing challenges as opportunities for learning and development. Resilience in other words! Adopting a growth mindset that sees potential in every situation. This is strengthened through self awareness as when you know your strengths you can utilise them in moments of difficulty!

  6. Pursue continuous learning: Never stop expanding your knowledge and skills. Curiosity is a powerful tool for self-actualisation. Iā€™ve said to you before I read 3 books at once sometimes because I love learning! But not only that surround yourself in rooms with people that are more intelligent than you, or from a different culture. Thats where the magic happens, it also helps you refine who you are and where you stand from a place of appreciation.

As I mentioned often the pathway to self actualisation is forged through overcoming adversity but actually, at any point in your life you can choose to embark on the journey. To make it simple hereā€™s a few key benefits:

  • Increased confidence and self-esteem

  • Gain greater resilience in face of challenges

  • Improve decision-making aligned with your true self

  • Enhance creativity and problem-solving skills

  • Gain a deeper sense of purpose and fulfilment

I think for me , as I often mention it wasnā€™t really a choice. I fell into this journey through a need to not feel the way I did any longer. I no longer wanted to feel prisoner to my mind and actually staying dedicated to my healing journey is the only was I have been able to gain freedom and true lasting empowerment. Here are a few ways you can start your journey.

  1. Daily reflection: Spend a few minutes each day journaling or meditating on your thoughts and experiences.

  2. Challenge comfort zones: Regularly do something that pushes your boundaries, however small.

  3. Practice mindfulness: Stay present in the moment and fully engage with your experiences.

  4. Pursue passions: Dedicate time to hobbies or interests that bring you joy and fulfillment.

There are a million ways to gain self actualisation and I do believe having someone to talk to, to give you honest feedback is essentail too. Working with a mentor (like me) or a coach is great for this but alternatively an honest friend or teacher would be ideal. You canā€™t do everything on your own. Thatā€™s a hard pill Iā€™ve had to swallow in my life but equally surrendering into help from others allows me to live fully in my feminine energy! Its lovely here, I invite you into your feminine energy too and if you need the address to yours, I can show you the way! Drop me a DM to book a FREE Recalibration call!

Fundamentally, Self-actualisation is not a destination but a lifelong journey. It's about continuously striving to be the best version of yourself, not for others, but for you. As women, we have the strength, resilience, and capability to reach our highest potential.

Remember, your path to self-actualisation is unique, as you are. Embrace it, nurture it, and watch as you unfold into the remarkable woman you're meant to be. The world needs more self-actualised women, more empowered women ā€“ and that journey begins with you.

Start today. What's one small step you can take towards your self-actualisation? The power to transform your life is in your hands. Especially this Leo season!
