Born and bred on the outskirts of London, Sherisse grew up with a passion for the arts. Sherisse trained in Ballet from the age of 3, but her real love for dance grew at the age of 11, when she was introduced to Street Dance.
Sherisse has always been a hardworking and dedicated performer. She always gives 100% to the task in hand, this is evident to see from her 1st Class Degree in Dance from Creative Academy/ The University of West London.
For the past 10 years Sherisse followed her passion as a professional dancer: travelling the world, performing on stage, corporate events and in music videos. Her most recent and biggest credit to date is her role as a dancer in the latest Marvel film Eternals and the Queens Jubilee Celebrations on ITV.
Parallel to performing, Sherisse had the pleasure of passing on her passion and experiences through teaching for various companies and institutions such as Schools, Colleges and Community groups.
Sherisse works with a women's charity AWA Dance (advancing women's aspirations with dance) as their Dance and Leadership Facilitator. Sherisse is also a part of DCD (Dancers Career Development) EDI working group assisting in creating meaningful and needed change.
Sherisse's life plan was to move to LA, unfortunately, the global pandemic prevented this from happening, which presented Sherisse with the deep rooted question of what and who does she want to be? With the limitations she faced, 10 years on, she decided to go back into education and under go her Masters in Dance, with a focus in Female Empowerment. This vital decision changed Sherisse's life in the best possible way.
Sherisse is the embodiment of everything she stands for authentic strength, loyalty and empowerment. Although, the journey to get to there did not come easy. Growing up in a volatile household and as a woman of colour in a predominantly white area added understandable hardships and like all young women, Sherisse faced unwanted attention. In addition, she was undermined by society for being outspoken in her opinion rather than playing to the expected norm of being “seen and not heard”. Understandably she was forced to build resilience, and as a result, at 23 she noticed that she had difficulty showing vulnerability and emotions. Sherisse realised that this was not a healthy way to live, with this in mind, she decided to embark upon her own journey of self discovery.
Combining her self evolution, education and life experiences, Sherisse has gained tools that have helped her to release the pain of her past, understand and conceptualise her emotions and regain true authentic strength. These tools, which consist of meditation and mindset work, journaling and mindful movement have shaped her into the empowered confident woman she is today. These practices have had a tremendous impact in her life. Sherisse believes by sharing these tools with others with the incorporation of dance, through her workshops, classes and programs will in turn, help whomever she teaches become the healthiest, happiest and most confident versions of themselves.
